Catherine Rielly is challenging the status quo through economic empowerment and gender justice. For 36 years she has championed global poverty alleviation and gender justice through field research, teaching, policy and practice. In this podcast, Catherine and I discuss what it was like to grow up around global thought leaders and its impact, her work as a political economist around the world, her focus on gender justice, and her non-profit, Rubia, that supports the empowerment of women and youth in Mali, Afghanistan and other marginalized communities through the sale of their heritage handwork.
