EPISODE SUMMARY
When my mom died a few weeks ago, I found myself grieving in an unexpected way. Mother and daughter relationships are complicated, yet still shape so much of how we relate to the world and other people. Although I loved my mother, I never felt that we had much in common, and we often expressed this to one another. However, when going through some of her things I found an unexpected and long forgotten gift – something that made me realize that maybe we had more in common than either one of us realized. This podcast is a tribute to my mother, the journey that has now brought her full circle, and the piece she wrote for me that helped me understand we never really know what lies within someone else’s heart, even when we have known that person our entire life. I hope you enjoy this tribute to my mother. Here’s to all of the women who came before us, and upon whose shoulders we all stand.

Marie, that was very well said. I am amazed more often than not, how often we don’t realize commonality between our loved ones and our selves until they have passed. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks Jeffrey. It’s amazing how we sometimes don’t see what is right in front of us.
