Amanda Place is a certified alcohol and drug counselor and a recovery advocate. After surviving a decade long addiction to heroin, she entered recovery in 2013. For the past four years, Amanda has worked in the field of Substance Use for a variety of local organizations providing counseling to individuals with substance use disorders. In this episode Marie sits down with Amanda to discuss her personal journey to healing and recovery, what it’s like to be a woman in recovery and how she changed the trajectory of her life. Amanda say’s “Addiction at its finest, is the ultimate disconnection from yourself and when she got sober her vision was so small, but when she found spirituality her vision became huge.
