The Maine Coalition to End Domestic Violence (MCEDV):
From February of 2017 – December of 2019, Daughters of Change collaborated with The Maine Coalition to End Domestic violence, WGME-TV, and local businesses to spearhead the Take Act!on Maine Campaign.
Take Act!on Maine Campaign
The Take Act!on Maine campaign was designed to inform, educate and inspire action to end domestic violence in Maine. As one of the largest public awareness campaigns about domestic violence ever done in the state, the campaign’s goals were to advise the public about how to utilize the helplines, and to engage men in becoming part of the solution.
As a result, the Take Act!on Maine campaign increased calls to the Statewide Helpline by more than 30%.
In addition, on September 23, 2017 the Take Act!on Maine campaign in conjunction with WGME-TV of Portland was honored with the First Place Creative Award for Public Service – Sponsored TV at the annual Maine Association of Broadcasters (MAB) News and Creative Awards.
